Mothers are Special
Mothers are indeed special. When I think of Mothers I
obviously think of my own, but I also look at my wife and how she is a mother
to our children. What is clear is that a Mother’s job is never done. From
caring for the needs of the children on a continual basis, to praying and
directing the children day in and day out, it is a job with no pay and long
hours. It is a responsibility of ensuring the survival of the next generation
physically and spiritually. It is a love that flows from the heart from what
seems to be a river that never dries. Mothers are indeed special and it is
right and fitting that we have a day that honors them.
Mothers who pray for their children and point them to Christ
should be Mothers that deserve even more praise. These are the Mothers that
realize there is something more important in this world than its possessions.
They realize there is a God in heaven that their very own children must honor
and follow if they expect to be successful in this life and the next.
A generation of people who refuse to honor such Mothers is a
generation that is accursed from God.
Proverbs 30:11-14 –
“There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their
mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not
washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their
eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation, whose teeth are
as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the
earth, and the needy from among men.”
A generation of people who refuse to honor and bless the
Mothers that raised them is a generation that is full of pride and selfishness.
They are a mean spirited generation that devour anybody in their way, and we
slowly descend into a world that nobody truly wants to live in.
Would you honor your mother this week? Do something special
for her? You may say you did not have a very good mother. I challenge you to forgive
any perceived or actual wrongs and honor your Mother this week. It will lift
past burdens, make you a better parent, and improve any relationship that needs
improving.
