Dealing with Trouble
All of us are going
to have to deal with trouble in our lives. Sometimes trouble just comes because
we live on this earth, and other times we make it for ourselves. Even if you
have lived a perfect life you would still face trouble in this life. Point and
case would be the life of Jesus Christ. He lived a perfect life and never did
anything wrong but still dealt with troubling things. He ended up being
crucified upon a cross of Calvary (raising from the dead three days later).
The fact of the
matter is you will deal with trouble in this life and Christ even told the
godly to be prepared for it.
II Timothy 3:12 –
“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
So how do we deal
with trouble and get out of it?
First, it is
important to live correctly according to the Word of God. Living the way we
should in godliness will eliminate many troublesome things in our life that we
just don’t need.
Proverbs 11:6 – “The
righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be
taken in their own naughtiness.”
Secondly, be honest
and truthful.
John 8:32 – “And
ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
When you do something
that gets you into trouble and you are caught in the wrong, just be honest and
truthful. The truth will set you free and enable you to live the rest of your
life with that trouble being put behind you. If you lie about a situation,
trying to get out of trouble, then you are just going to compile one trouble on
top of another. Soon you will find yourself in a vicious cycle always trying to
cover up your wrong with another lie while your trouble just gets bigger and
bigger and never goes away. Sure you might delay the trouble you are in by
lying, but it will always come back worse than before.
Proverbs 12:19 –
“The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for
a moment.”
Third, you need to
accept any consequences there may be to the trouble you are in. If the trouble
you are in is due to your wrong doing just accept the consequences, pay your
debt, and get on with your life.
Fourth, learn all
you can from every type of trouble you encounter. Learning from your
difficulties will enable you to grow as a person, and enable you to deal with
future trouble more readily.
Psalms 119:71 –
“It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy
statutes.”
Lastly, seek help
when you are in trouble. It does not matter if you are in trouble of your own
making or if you just fell into it because of the circumstances of life. Seek
help because dealing with trouble by yourself can wear you down to the point of
giving up entirely on life.
Hebrews 4:16 –
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain
mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
