Faith Unseen
Walking by faith is
what we are to do as Christians.
II Corinthians 5:7 –
“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”
Yet walking by faith
is also not just some blind leap with no thought or consideration. By saying
you are taking a blind leap of faith on something, you are simply stating that you
are stepping out in a reckless action you hope God will bail you out of if it fails.
So what is faith if
it’s something that is not by sight nor a pure blind leap? Faith is very simply
hearing what God says and taking action upon those words whether you see how it
can be accomplished or not.
Romans 10:17 –
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
That is quite simply
what faith is. It is me reading God’s Word, listening to it, and then living my
life according to its commands, in spite of whether I think it can be done that
way, or if it does not look like the best course of action. Faith is me
trusting that God knows best and doing what He has told me to do. There is nothing
blind about it, but there are often things we are told to do that we have no
way of seeing how they can come about. Faith is, in essence, trusting God to do
what He said He will do.
This kind of action,
trusting God, is pleasing to Him and shows our heart of belief in Him. When we
do even the hard things by faith in God, trusting what He has said will come to
pass, we are showing where our heart really is.
If you truly want a
good relationship with Jesus Christ then you will have to let your faith grow
in Him. For, in reality, faith is the start of our life with Christ and is the
sustainer of it.
Hebrews 11:6 –
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God
must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek
him.”
