Doing Something Great For the Lord

  Often people dream of doing something great or grandiose for the Lord. Yet we then do nothing at all because we feel we don’t have the strength, ability, or smarts to do anything worthwhile. We use the excuse that we would do something if we were just a little more talented or gifted. The fact of the matter is that every single one of us can do something great for the Lord simply by being willing to be used by Him.

  You see each of us were born into this world for a specific task that God wants us to accomplish. None of us are accidents. We were not born only to hear God say, “Oops”! He has a distinct purpose for us to fulfill in the kingdom of God and we can be used greatly if we just let Him take control. We simply have to yield to His power and not our own.

Acts 1:8 – “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

  Doing the simplest of tasks in the power of the Lord becomes great in His Kingdom. Whatever He has gifted you in, and He has gifted you, use it for His glory and it will be grand in His sight. You can and will accomplish much on this earth by simply doing the little things God has asked you to do.

Zechariah 4:10a – “For who hath despised the day of small things?”

  One small task at a time accomplished for Christ will add up to a lot in the end. So keep on keeping on and the Lord will give you the power to do great things for Him.
