Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing

As we finished up our Missions Conference this past week, I couldn't help but think how easy it is to get our priorities out of whack.  The urgency of the immediate seems to constantly want to take place of that which is most important.  For instance, it is easy to get into the habit of running our errands without noticing and witnessing to the people around us.  We are so focused on what is urgent (our errands) that we forget that which is most important (people).  We can do the same thing with our finances.  It is too easy to spend $300 on a new electronic device that we feel we must have now instead of giving $300 to missions which could see the lives of others changed for all eternity.  It seems that our problem is that we are too selfish and too short-sighted.  That is why I always love our Missions Conference.  It helps remind us to get our thoughts off ourselves and to keep the main thing, the main thing.
